If you drive around Lexington, Winston-Salem, Thomasville, Salisbury, or High Point, your paint is already doing a job it was never meant to do alone. Pollen in spring, summer heat on a dark hood, road film on I-85, and the fine scratches left by automatic car washes all show up faster than most owners expect. A ceramic coating is how we slow that down.
Level Up Detailing installs Owner’s Pride warrantied ceramic coatings at our Lexington shop. The right package is not the same for a new sedan and a three-year-old truck. This guide walks through the options we actually install: 3-year, 5-year, and 7-year exterior coatings, the 9-year self-healing coating, interior ceramic, and the add-ons that make the finish easier to live with.
What a ceramic coating actually does
A professional ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to prepared paint, trim, wheel faces, and lights. It is not a wax, and it is not a cover for damaged paint. Once it cures, it adds gloss, deepens color, and creates a hydrophobic surface so water beads and carries dirt with it.
That matters on local roads. Winston-Salem and High Point traffic throws brake dust and road film onto the lower panels. Thomasville and Salisbury drivers see the same tree sap, bug acids, and UV that bake into a hood left outside all day. A coating will not make paint scratch-proof. A key, a shopping cart, or a rough wash mitt can still mark it. What it does is resist light wash marring, chemical spots, and the dulling that comes from constant exposure.
Prep comes before the coating
Every exterior package starts the same way, because the coating only bonds as well as the surface under it. We do a luxury hand wash and exterior detail, an iron decontamination, and a clay treatment to pull embedded contaminants out of the paint. Then we enhance the finish, reducing light swirls and scratches, prep the surface, and apply the coating to the body, trim, wheel faces, headlights, and taillights.
Most exterior coatings take about 48-72 hours in the shop. If the paint has heavier swirls from tunnel washes, a two-stage paint correction is available at an added charge. Correction is what removes the haze. The coating is what helps keep the corrected finish from going dull again.
Exterior packages, by vehicle size
Owner’s Pride exterior coatings are priced by warranty length and by the size of the vehicle. These are current starting prices from levelup-detailing.com. Condition, heavier correction, and add-ons can change the quote.
3-year Owner’s Pride
• Coupe, sedan, or small hatchback: $1,199
• Midsize SUV or small truck: $1,499
• Large SUV, van, or truck: $1,699
The 3-year coating is the right call if you want real protection and gloss without committing to the longest warranty. It fits a daily driver that lives outside in Lexington or Thomasville and just needs to stop looking tired between washes.
5-year Owner’s Pride
• Coupe, sedan, or small hatchback: $1,349
• Midsize SUV or small truck: $1,649
• Large SUV, van, or truck: $1,849
Five years is the middle ground most owners land on. It covers a typical ownership stretch for a newer SUV or truck and still includes the same prep. Motorcycles have their own five-year warrantied package, starting at $699.
7-year Owner’s Pride
• Coupe, sedan, or small hatchback: $1,499
• Midsize SUV or small truck: $1,899
• Large SUV, van, or truck: $1,999
The 7-year coating is what we recommend when the vehicle is staying in the family. A daily SUV or work truck that will still be in the driveway in High Point or Salisbury five years from now gets more value from the longer warranty than from saving a few hundred dollars up front.
9-year self-healing Owner’s Pride
• Coupe, sedan, or small hatchback: $2,099
• Midsize SUV or small truck: $2,299
• Large SUV, van, or truck: $2,599
The 9-year coating is our Owner’s Pride self-healing option, with packages starting at $1,999 depending on the vehicle. Self-healing here means light wash marks and fine surface marring can relax out with heat and either completely go away or become very difficult to see. It is the longest exterior warranty we install, and it is the package we use when someone wants the deepest gloss and the most time on the warranty.
Interior ceramic, for the cabin you actually use
Exterior coating does nothing for coffee, kids, dog hair, or a damp jacket on the seat. Interior Owner’s Pride packages start with a full interior detail: vacuum, shampoo and hot-water extraction on fabric and carpet, hand cleaning of leather, and a white-glove clean of hard surfaces. Then we coat fabric, carpet, leather, vinyl, and plastic. Interior work usually takes about a day.
• Coupe or sedan: $699
• Midsize SUV or truck: $775
• Large SUV, van, or truck: $799
Glass and the surfaces people forget
Window polishing and a ceramic coating on the glass starts at $199. We machine-polish the windows and windshield to reduce water spots, then apply a non-warrantied coating so rain beads instead of smearing. Wheel faces are already part of the exterior package. Glass and wheels are where you notice the coating after a week of Winston-Salem commute.
Which option fits the drive you actually do
• Newer daily driver, parked outside: a 5-year or 7-year exterior coating, plus glass. This is the usual Lexington and Thomasville setup.
• Family SUV with kids or pets: 7-year exterior and the interior package. The cabin takes more abuse than the paint on most High Point and Salisbury vehicles we see.
• Truck or large SUV: price the large-vehicle tier, not the sedan price. A 7-year or 9-year coating is easier to justify on a truck you plan to keep.
• Show car or a vehicle you want to keep looking corrected: 9-year self-healing, after we look at the paint and decide whether one-step enhancement is enough.
• Older paint with wash swirls: coating alone will not erase them. Ask about two-stage correction first, then choose the warranty length.
Serving the Triad from Lexington
Our shop is in Lexington, and most coating appointments come from the surrounding towns. Winston-Salem is a short drive up US-52. Thomasville and High Point sit just north and east. Salisbury customers come up I-85. We book by appointment so the vehicle can stay through prep, coating, and cure instead of being rushed in and out.
Before you leave, we walk through how to wash it. A coated car still needs a proper wash: two-bucket method, a clean microfiber mitt, and no automatic brushes. That aftercare is what lets a 5-, 7-, or 9-year warranty stay a warranty instead of a sticker.
Ask about Affirm when you book if you want to split the package into payments. Eligibility is required, and rates range from 0–36% APR.
