If you’ve been pricing tint for your car, truck or SUV, you’ve probably seen quotes all over the map. The ceramic window tint cost depends on how much glass you’re covering, not on how dark you go, and the film itself is a big part of what you pay for. In this blog, we’ll break down what each package includes, why ceramic costs more than basic film, what windshield tint runs and whether ceramic tint is worth it for Triad drivers.

Key Takeaways: Ceramic Window Tint Cost

  • Three main packages: $199 for the two front windows, $450 for coupes, sedans, hatchbacks and trucks, and $499 for non-commercial SUVs and vans.
  • Shade doesn’t change the price: 5%, 15%, 20%, 35% and 50% (our lightest) all cost the same within a package.
  • Windshield options: strips start at $80 and a full front windshield starts at $275. An extra quarter glass is a $25 add-on.
  • Ceramic only: we install only ceramic window film. It blocks 99% of UV, rejects up to 95% of infrared heat and reduces glare.
  • Lifetime warranty: every tint job we install is covered for life.
  • Plan a drop-off: a full car takes the majority of a day at our Lexington shop, and you keep the windows rolled up for 5 days afterward.

What’s Included in Each Ceramic Tint Package?

Each package is priced by how many windows it covers. The two-front-windows package ($199) covers the driver and passenger door glass. The $450 package covers all four side doors, one pair of quarter glass and the rear windshield. The $499 SUV and van package adds the rear side windows those vehicles have.

That’s the whole reason an SUV costs $49 more than a sedan: there’s more glass to cut and install. If your vehicle has an extra quarter glass window beyond the pair included in the package, it’s a $25 add-on.

Many SUV and truck owners start with just the two fronts, because factory privacy glass already darkens the back. If that’s you, our post on whether you can tint front windows to match factory privacy glass explains how close you can get.

Does a Darker Shade Cost More?

No. We offer 5%, 15%, 20%, 35% and 50% ceramic film, and the price is the same for every shade. A lower number means a darker film, so 20% is darker than 35%.

Why Is Ceramic Tint More Expensive Than Regular Tint?

Ceramic tint costs more because the film is built to do more. Basic dyed film mainly darkens the glass. Ceramic window film uses ceramic particles to block heat and UV without relying on dye, and that costs more to make. At Level Up, the price also includes a lifetime warranty on every tint job.

Here’s what our ceramic window film does: it blocks 99% of UV, rejects up to 95% of infrared heat and reduces glare. Infrared is the part of sunlight you feel as heat on your arm and on the seats, so rejecting it is what keeps the cabin cooler on a hot afternoon.

The install itself is careful, detailed work either way. Your glass is cleaned, each piece of film is cut to fit, and it’s applied at our shop. The difference in price comes down to the film and the warranty behind it. We install only ceramic, so you won’t find a cheaper non-ceramic option on our menu. How Much Does Windshield Tint Cost?

A windshield strip (also called a brow) starts at $80, and a full front windshield starts at $275. You can add either one to any side-window package. The strip covers the band across the top of the windshield. A full windshield adds ceramic heat and UV protection to the biggest piece of glass in the car.

The windshield is where most of the sun hits your dashboard and steering wheel, so a full windshield is a popular add-on for drivers who want the coolest cabin possible. Ask us about either option when you call.

Is Ceramic Tint Worth It?

For most drivers who spend time in the sun, yes. Ceramic tint keeps the cabin cooler, blocks 99% of UV through the glass and reduces glare, and you pay once. A full car is $450 to $499 with a lifetime warranty, with no ongoing fees or maintenance plan.

Side windows are where a lot of UV gets in. A 2016 JAMA Ophthalmology study of 29 cars found windshields blocked an average of 96% of UV-A, but side windows blocked only 71%. That matters for your arms, your face and your interior. The EPA notes UV is strongest from April through August and around midday.

Heat is the other half. Winston-Salem’s Smith Reynolds Airport, the closest official weather station to Clemmons, averages about 33 days a year at 90°F or hotter (NOAA 1991–2020 climate normals). Even our lightest 50% shade is ceramic film, so you can keep a factory look and still cut heat. Our post on whether light ceramic tint blocks heat goes deeper.

The honest downside is the up-front price, which is higher than basic film. If you drive a lot after dark, read can you see at night with ceramic tint before you pick a shade.

Is $500 a Lot for Ceramic Tint?

For a full SUV or van in ceramic film with a lifetime warranty, $499 is our price, and it covers the four doors, the rear side windows, a set of quarter glass and the rear windshield. Coupes, sedans, hatchbacks and trucks are $450, and the two fronts alone are $199.

Think of it as a one-time cost spread over every drive you take in that vehicle. There’s no yearly fee, and the lifetime warranty means you aren’t paying for the same windows twice. To hold your appointment, there’s a $50 deposit. It’s nonrefundable, and in an emergency you get one courtesy reschedule at no cost.

Ceramic Tint for Clemmons Commuters

Clemmons is a commuter town. The Village’s comprehensive plan says 93% of workers in its study area commute elsewhere, and travel there is heavily influenced by access to I-40. The Census puts the average commute at about 22 minutes each way. That’s a lot of time with the sun beating on your side glass.

Our shop at 275 Crystal Ridge Dr in Lexington is about 12 miles, or roughly 25 minutes, from Clemmons. Tint is a drop-off and pick-up job: a full car takes the majority of a day, and all work is done at our shop. After pickup, keep the newly tinted windows rolled up for 5 days so the film can set. See our ceramic window tint in Clemmons page for shades and directions. Neighbors on the same I-40 corridor can check our window tint in Lewisville and window tint in Winston-Salem pages.
